Gazon 1791/The Man of 1791
“Gason 1791 / The Man Of 1791”. Dutty Bookman, Jamaican, moved to
Hispaniola (Haiti) as a slave. He was a self educated Voodoo Priest (hougan)
and the leader of the Bois Cayman Voodoo Ceremony.
This ceremony took place n August 14, 1791 and ignited the slave revolution in Hispaniola (Haiti),
which ended with their liberation in 1804.
